Skidmore Cares
Skidmore Cares — the annual campus-wide effort to support individuals and families in need in the Saratoga community — is now in its 19th year. Visit the Skidmore Cares website to learn about ways to support local community organizations. Collected items can be dropped off at Scribner House Carriage House from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 20 and 21. A collection box will be available outside the carriage house for after-hours donations.
Empty Bowls Project for the Wilton Food Pantry
Members of the Skidmore community are partnering with friends of the Wilton Food Pantry for the 13th annual Empty Bowls event. Skidmore students have created approximately 300 bowls for the event, which will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, at the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge #161, on Route 9, and will include a silent auction and music by John Kribs and Adrenaline in addition to the meal.
Dining Services Thanksgiving pies and bread sale
Dining Services will be selling homemade breads and pies for Thanksgiving. All orders must be received by Thursday, Nov. 21. Please visit the Dining Services website regularly for updates, Spa Specials, hours of operation, and other information.
Help build a trail in the North Woods
Help the Sustainability Office build a new trail in the North Woods from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15. Volunteers of any experience level are welcome to contribute for any amount of time. Email Celia Darling to RSVP.
Thank-A-Thoroughbred Day sponsored by the Skidmore Fund
Students, faculty, and staff are invited to celebrate the second annual Thank-A-Thoroughbred Day, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19, outside of the Case Student Gallery in Case Center. Be entered to win one of two $50 Skidmore Shop gift cards by writing a note of thanks or creating a video “moment of gratitude.”
Exchange Closet winter donations
The Exchange Closet, which has moved to Library 126, is requesting winter donations (jackets, coats, hats, etc.). Please drop off any donations to the Case Desk or Case 207 during business hours. Please contact Mary Ann Toia with questions.
Host an international student for Thanksgiving
Each year, Student Academic Services matches international students who can't go home with Skidmore families who would like to add cheer and intercultural exchange to their Thanksgiving meals. Members of the Skidmore community willing to host an international student at their meal should express interest through a brief survey. Contact Chloe Jaleel with questions.
